I’m a research director of Institute for the Future and co-founder of Boing Boing. I'm also the editor of Cool Tools. I was the founding editor-in-chief of Wired.com and Make magazine. I’ve written for The New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic, Popular Science, Business Week, The Hollywood Reporter, Wired, and other national publications. I'm the author of nine books, including The Computer: An Illustrated History.
About me
I'm interested in all kinds of media: animation, illustration, video, writing, editing, and podcasts. I also enjoy making things with laser cutters, 3D printers, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi.
